Woodworking for Highschoolers

Learn basic woodworking skills while making 3 cutting boards perfect to impress your family and friends in the kitchen. Students will have the opportunity to gather the necessary safety and skills required in the woodshop to set the foundation for future woodworking classes. Open to Junior high and High school students. Class dates are 3 consecutive Saturday mornings: July 13th, 20th & 27th. 9am-noon.

Heather Ashworth is the Administrator and Shop Technician for Able Trade industrial shared shop, studios and classes in old downtown Knoxville, Tn. Just prior to this transition, Heather worked for Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts as Wood Studios Technician for the past 11 ½ years and one year before as the Wood Artist-in-Resident.Although Heather’s background consists of furniture design and high craft trade, she enjoys teaching the most. Heather has taught kids as young as 3rd grade woodturning and woodworking for over 12 years.
