Join us for Intro to Welding class with the talented Marisa Mitchell!

Dive into the fundamentals of MIG welding in this beginner-friendly class designed to teach you how to safely and effectively weld a basic joint. MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding is one of the easiest methods to learn, using a wire-fed gun and shielding gas to create clean, strong welds—perfect for beginners. You’ll learn essential safety practices, gear up with provided protective equipment, and work hands-on with mild steel to complete a basic fillet weld. With step-by-step guidance on setup, technique, and inspection, you’ll walk away with new skills and the confidence to keep welding!

Tuition: $150.00 includes materials.

Marisa has over 10 years of experience working with metal and welding and have taught welding courses at Pellissippi State Community College, along with years of experience leading glassblowing workshops. She’s passionate about sharing her knowledge and inspiring others to explore the trades. Marisa workshops focus on essential skills and safety while also offering hands-on projects, giving students a unique piece to take home as a testament to what they’ve learned.
